Friday 16th June | 4-7pm Restorative Inversions and Pranayama |
Understand the essential use of Yoga props to find a still and subtle understanding of the classic asanas. Learn intelligent sequencing in your restorative practice to bring about a profound change to the inner workings of your practice.
In the practice we will explore standing forward bends to prepare for the main focus of restorative inversions and pranayama. With the full support of various props one can easily sustain long holds in theses asanas. Feel the therapeutic effect of the restorative practice on both the physical and subtle systems of the body, including the glandular and nervous systems.
Understanding the Doshas will give us a practical means to find our balance and to live in harmony with Nature.
Each of the Yoga Workshops will take an experiential approach for the practitioner to understand
the qualities of Elements that form the Doshas,
the function of the Doshas in the balance of the bodily systems.
These practical workshop's will relate specifically to understanding the Doshas and their place in the body. The asana sequence will specifically work on stimulating and balancing the particular Doshas in the body.
Saturday 17th June | 10.00 -1pm Vata Pacifying- Standing Asana and Inversions |
A series of stable and grounding standing poses to cultivate energy and stability in the body and mind. An introduction to the inversions of Supported Head Stand and Shoulder-stand (Salamba Sirsasana & Salamba Sarvangasana). Theses asana also have a profound effect of grounding the nervous system and balancing Vata Dosha.
Saturday 17th June | 2-5pm Pitta Pacifying- Forward Extensions, Twists & Restoratives |
Deep forward extensions and gentle passive twists to cool and balance the fiery quality of Pitta. Restorative Inversions and supine poses will be emphasised to complete practice, further grounding Pitta Dosha.
Sunday 18th June | 9am-12pm Kapha Pacifying- Standing Asana, Inversions and Back Bends |
Energising Standing Asanas and Inversions will be taught to open and energise the arms, shoulder girdle, lungs and heart. This preparation will lead us effortlessly into Supported Back Bends creating lightness, warmth and energy in the body, heart and mind. In stimulating and balancing Kapha dosha the positive grounding and nurturing quality of Kapha can be integrated.
Although the full understanding and integration of all the Dosha's is planned over the duration of the weekend. Each workshop can be attended individually as a complete practice and workshop.

These workshops are suitable for anyone who wishes to deepen their knowledge and practice of Yoga.
These workshops aresuitable for any level of practice and understanding, if you are new to yoga, already practicing yoga or aspiring to be a teacher of yoga.
Already certified teacher will receive Continuing Educations Hours in line with Yoga Alliance.

About the Facilitator
Diego is the founder of Inner Wellness Studio in Durban, a practice specialising in Yoga, meditation, and teacher training. Diego draws from his background in holistic health coaching, integrative nutrition, and Ayurveda offering a comprehensive lifestyle approach.
Diego was introduced to Yoga at a early age and since then it has become his vocation. Continuing to advance his practice both as a learner and a teacher, he completed yoga teacher training programs in Vinyasa Yoga, Kundalini Yoga and Meditation, Iyengar Yoga and has received the credentials as an Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher (E-RYT 500) with Yoga Alliance. He runs 200hr Yoga Teachers Training Certificate Courses.
In 2009 he completed his first 200hr Yoga Teacher Training Course with the Shades of Yoga School.
His personal practice led him to the teachings of Kundalini Yoga and Meditation (as taught by Yogi Bhajan) and he completed Level I Teacher Training with Pritam Khalsa & Har Bhajan in 2012. In 2015 he completed advanced teacher training (300hr) at the Kailash Tribal School in the Himalayas, focusing on Patanjali's yoga system, traditional Yoga philosophy and Ayurveda.
Most recently, Diego completed a 3 year certification course with the Iyengar Yoga Centre Oudshroon (David Jacobs & Jürgen Meusel) an experience that allowed him to participate in Yoganusasanam 2014, an intensive 10 day yoga course with with Geetaji Iyengar. In the January of 2015 Diego had the opportunity to practice at the Iyengar Institute in Pune, India.
Additionally, Diego is a certified Holistic Health Coach having completed a professional program with the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in New York City in 2012. Also having been trained in holistic massage, acupressure, and traditional Thai massage.

It is my intention to promote the holistic practice of yoga as a lifestyle, to maintain health and balance and promote optimum wellness.”
